Stop Smoking

stop smokingHypnotherapy is a highly effective treatment for those who wish to give up smoking. Hypnosis can never make anybody do anything that they don't want to; however, provided you have a clear personal desire to give up smoking, hypnosis will help you achieve your goal.

stop smokingThe treatment used is usually successful as a one-session therapy, and a free back up session is always provided if needed. Our Stop Smoking hypnotherapy has been extremely successful and we are committed to making your Stop Smoking experience as easy as possible.

Hypnosis is the best way to stop smoking!

Research director for The National Council for Hypnotherapy, Josephine Teague recently posted the following piece of research evidence.

Research on the effectiveness of hypnosis for quitting smoking

To find the most effective method to stop smoking Frank Schmidt and research student Chockalingham Viswesvaran from the university of Iowa used a meta-analysis, utilising the results of more than 600 studies totalling nearly 72,000 people.

The results, which were published in the Journal of Applied Psychology and included 48 studies of hypnosis covering 6000 smokers, clearly showed that hypnosis, to use the same terminology as the quit counsellor, was three times more effective than Nicotine Replacement Therapy.

How much is smoking costing you?

The table below shows how much a 20 a day smoker spends on cigarettes, the average cost of a packet being £5.30.

Cost

Per Month

£161

Per Year

£1,935

Over 10 years

£19,345

Could you put that money to better use? For instance the yearly saving could pay for a two-week family holiday abroad or a luxury holiday for two.

Of course smoking can cost you your health as well. Here are a few other reasons for giving up:-

  • Approximately half of all regular cigarette smokers will eventually be killed by their habit.
  • The risk of having a heart attack is two or three times greater in smokers than non-smokers.
  • Smoking is the cause of about 90% of peripheral vascular disease which leads to about 2000 leg amputations each year.
  • Smokers who smoke between 1 and 14 cigarettes a day have 8 times the risk of dying from lung cancer compared to non-smokers. This risk increases the more smoked, with those who smoke over 25 cigarettes a day having 25 times this risk.
  • 30% of all cancer deaths are attributed to smoking.
  • Cancers linked to smoking include lung cancer, cervical cancer, cancers of the mouth lip and throat, cancer of the pancreas, bladder cancer, stomach cancer, cancer of the kidney and liver cancer.
  • Smoking causes approximately 82% of all deaths from lung cancer, 83% of all deaths from bronchitis and emphysema and about 25% of all deaths from heart disease.

What our clients say:
"I was smoking 20 cigarettes a day and had done so for the last 14 years. I had just one hypnotherapy session with Betty, and my urge to smoke has just disappeared."

"I can't believe it was so easy!"

"It was so simple to give up smoking - I stopped smoking after just one session. Amazing!"

“From 30-40 cigarettes a day to nothing. I was sceptical but I just don’t want one now.”

“I can’t thank you enough. My breathing has improved and my chest feels so much clearer. I wish I had done this years ago.”
